About Me!
My name is La'Dwan Garrett, and I help people discover and excel in their ideal professions.
One of my favorite career and business quotes says. “Find a job you enjoy doing, and you will never have to work a day in your life.”― Mark Twain
One of the best feelings possible as a Career Coach is the light bulb look when people tap into purpose! Having severed as a Supervisor, Manager, Mentor, and Coach for various companies over the years has enabled me to successfully comprehend Business and Management needs as well as God’s most precious creation,…people. I love my calling as a Career Consultant because helping people live successful victorious lives, is my purpose. While working in social service environments early on in my career, I found so many people had a desire for better, but just did not know how to get there. Even as Christian's we need faith and strategy to obtain success. If we mix our "super" from God with our "natural" (i.e. research, use of our gifts/talents, and God inspired strategy) we can walk in God's best for us.
How Wisdom Guided Me
I attribute every bit of my success to God. Why? Because when I seek Him for wisdom and direction, He always guides me to the right resources, books, people, and situations.
Let me tell you about my own career challenge.
When I decided to return to the Career Services arena in 2017, I was excited to share my managerial knowledge, and my understanding of “corporate mindsets” with new job seekers. However, when I started my own job search, I realized I was a bit out of the loop.
The active job search process had dramatically changed, and I knew I needed to seek God for wisdom and insight on how to succeed at my own career goals before advising others. This new environment required a new mindset and skills I had yet to obtain.
The Word says, “If any of you lacks wisdom [to guide him through a decision or circumstance], he is to ask of [our benevolent] God, who gives to everyone generously and without rebuke or blame, and it will be given to him.”- James 1:5-6 (AMP)
I needed to know which books to read, and what economic career trend reports to follow. Over time, I caught up—and God guided me to my position as a Career Services Advisor for an online university, helping pre-grads and graduates secure positions in their fields of study.
Take the Wise Road to Success
Let's mix our faith with a targeted plan of action to produce positive results.
As Apostle Fletcher always says, “Your preparation is evidence of your expectations!”
Wishing you great success!
Minister La'Dwan Garrett
